Community members in the Isaac, Whitsunday, and Mackay regions are invited to the next Queensland Community Renewables Forum in Nebo on Thursday, November 28, 2024. This forum offers a unique opportunity to explore large-scale renewable energy projects and their impact on local communities.

Packed with presentations, info booths, and interactive Q&A sessions, the event brings together experts from the renewable energy, agriculture, government, and academic sectors. It’s part of a series of free forums across Queensland designed to empower communities with knowledge and foster open dialogue.

The Forums are a collaborative effort between the Queensland Government, the Queensland Renewable Energy Council (QREC), and Coexistence Queensland, and promise valuable insights into the energy transition and its benefits for all Queenslanders.

QREC CEO Katie-Anne Mulder said the forum is about connecting communities with the renewable energy sector.

“We’re committed to working with agriculture, local governments, and environmental advocates to ensure sustainable energy development,” she said.

“This event builds on the momentum from our first forum in Miles and brings everyone together to talk about the energy transition that’s reshaping Australia.”

Coexistence Queensland CEO Warwick Squire stressed the importance of balancing community needs.

“This forum gives people a chance to engage directly with renewable energy companies and learn how the industry operates,” he said.

“It’s about making sure the energy transition benefits everyone.”
